This was an intimidating thing for me and really could not have been done without God's help. Huge step of faith. <br /><br />The Homeschooling part of the story is that.... my writing skills are <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">terrible</span>. BUT the daughter I taught from 4<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">th</span> grade on has fantastic writing and editing abilities. Go figure.... "Self" and "Me First" are such gods in our culture. It is something as a mother I have to fight against constantly.<br /><br />With my older kids I did learn my time with them is brief. So.. my younger children do benefit from having me experiment on their older siblings. I am more relaxed. I do enjoy them more. I want to spend time with them. At the beginning of a new school year it is always a bit hard to tell if my expectations are realistic, too easy or too advanced? At the half way point both children will move into new Math books. I love the flexibility of homeschooling. The Science seems perfect and the Social Studies a bit light so I can add the books I wanted to. <br /><br />Sometimes I hate being identified with “homeschoolers” because of the bad reputation many of them have. There are as many different types of homeschoolers as there are teachers. Teachers and children come in every temperament, from lazy to diligent. I know my children gifts and failings so I am the most qualified to challenge them on and spur them to their fullest potential.
